For all her young life Myla Trogsen has lived a lonely, isolated existence. Afflicted with a rare genetic disorder, she must use a wheelchair or motorized scooter to get around. Home schooled by her mother, she is constantly reminded by her that in times of trouble, "Little people must surrender."
Now, two years after her parents untimely deaths in a car crash, she sometimes feels the need to visit the nearby town, even though it almost always makes her feel embarrassed, frustrated, angry, and even lonelier. But this time a near accident with a truck literally blows her off the road and into another world.
The people she meets all look like her -- small, white-haired, and older than their age, in fact they see her as beautiful. Do they suffer from the same disease as she? The planet itself seems to be a living entity and may have summoned her for some reason. But what is it? The people of a remote village are being held captive by the Zyots, a hulking warrior race. How can she rescue them?
And weirdest of all, her electric scooter now performs like a souped-up four-wheel-drive ATV. And doesn't seem to need a recharge -- but for how long? Unlike her home world, Earth, in the magical world of Weupp, she fits right in ... and there's a prince to rescue.
Welcome to the world of Weupp.

"If I were to wish for anything, I should not wish for
wealth and power, but for the passionate sense of the
potential, for the eye which, ever young and ardent,
sees the possible . . . What wine is so sparkling, so
fragrant, so intoxicating, as possibility!"

C L Rossman's  first novel, Renegade the Hunter was published in 2003. In it, we journey to another world to  tell the story of the Hunters or tautschen, civlized carnivores whose outlook on life is very different from ours. The young man, Renegade, and his two friends are being trained for their Master Hunt, in which they either bring down the most dangerous beast they can find--or they could die in the die. They are on their own set down on worlds they do not know. They also do not know that someone in authority doesn't want them to succeed.
Her second novel RENEGADE the Warrior, came out in 2006. We follow Renegade and his friends Rampage and Dasrylion as they become  master hunters and now warriors, trvelling across the stars to try to  defeat a dangerous alien species. Rejoin the Hunt as your favorite characters return.
The newest book in the series,"The Mission to Earth," is now out and available everywhere including Amazon and Barnes & Noble.\and local stores. The action takes place right here on Earth about 20 years after the events in "Renegade the Warrior,"  as Humans and Hunters attempt to make a peace treaty following the defeat of a dangerous mutual enemy. But can the two sides trust each other?  And even as they gather for a grand meeting  in New York City, a terrorist group lurks in the shdows, ready to destroy that alliance, no matter what it takes

Alien invasions, alternate realities, the Battle of Britain and a futuristic Los Angeles are just some of the subjects Scholes’ wicked imagination has tackled, with spellbinding twists.

Science Fiction and Alternate History
by David Scholes
I own this book by Bruce C Davis and found it to be quite different from the average sci-fi book that you'll find out there. The main character, and hero of this story is not your typical type, and I'm sure you'll be as delighted as I was by the unique adventures that befell him.
Set in a near-future Chicago,  is part adventure, part mystery, part science, and all fun. Tito, the main character, is a "Denver Dwarf"--victim of a birth defect caused by a biological terrorist attack while he was in the womb. It certainly didn't affect his mind or his spirit, though. He meets up with Charlie Sleazer, a hot chestnut vendor who quotes Shakespeare and has a few interesting sidelines (like helping people out of jams). They are trying to unravel what happened to Tito's father, who disappeared years ago. The C.O.P.S.--huge mechanical machines with biological 'chips' in control of their actions--seem to be engaged in a huge cover-up, adding to their already repressive nature as they try to protect people from everything including themselves.  Blanktown is a fast-paced novel that's fun and easy to read, yet it makes the reader think about lots of things, not least of which is the value of being true to oneself and one's family
Fran Jacobs graduated from the University of Nottingham with a Masters degree in Ancient History in 2001, and now lives in Swansea, South Wales, where she runs an online gothic website, Megaera’s Realm. Fran mostly writes fantasy, with a penchant for the darker side of it, and her stories have been published in a variety of magazines including Forgotten Worlds, Nanobison, Neo-opsis and Alien Skin Magazine. But she also dabbles in writing macabre short stories and articles on witches, black magic and vengeful female poisoners.

"The Shadow Seer" is the first book in Fan Jacobs "Ellenessia's Curse" trilogy, and is available now from http://www.readerseden.com/product.php?productid=804

For generations prophets have foreseen the birth of the Shadow Seer, the oracle of dark visions and fallen kingdoms. But by the time of Sorron, King of Carnia, their warnings have mostly been forgotten and his name is known only to a handful of scholars.
When Sorron's grandson, Prince Candale, falls deathly ill, the Seer's legends are brought to light once again by his saviour, a witch named Mayrila. She believes that Candale is the fulfillment of those long forgotten prophecies. She believes that he is the Shadow Seer...

In Book Three of a series written by C L Rossman, she brings together her Tauchen characters, the Hunters,  and Humans for a thrilling conclusion.
So far, I've read the first book in the series and found the characters both rich and endearing.
A great book for young readers (or readers of any age) filled with  action, compassion and strong family values in these space-faring hunters.
